Properties: Extremely hygroscopic cryst mass. Hydrolyzed rapidly by moist air. mp 110°. Dec at 160-170° with evolution of acetic anhydride. bp6.0 148°. Violent reaction on contact with water. Forms SiO2 and ethyl acetate on contact with alcohol. Moderately sol in acetone, benzene.
