Properties: Flexible, lemon-colored needles or yellow powder from glacial acetic acid. Odorless, tasteless. mp 212-213°. Practically insol in water. Freely sol in alcohol, benzene. Sol in acetone, ether. Sol in dil NaOH yielding solns of an intense deep yellow color.
Melting point: mp 212-213°
Use: Antiseptic, germicide.
