Identification Cottonseed Oil exhibits the following composition profile of fatty acids, as determined in the section Fatty Acid Composition under Fats and Fixed Oils 401:
Specific gravity 841: between 0.915 and 0.921.
Free fatty acids 401 The free fatty acids in 10.0 g require for neutralization not more than 2.0 mL of 0.020 N sodium hydroxide.
Iodine value 401: between 109 and 120.
Heavy metals, Method II 231: 0.001%.
