The condensation of the known amine (Ia-b) with (3-chloro-thiobenzoylsulfanyl)acetic acid (II) took place with thioester cleavage to produce a mixture of diastereomeric thioamides (III) and (IV), from which the title trans-isomer (III) was isolated by chromatography.
