Purified Honey
» Purified Honey is obtained by purification of honey from the comb of the bee, Apis mellifera L. and all subspecies of Apis mellifera. The honey is extracted by centrifugation, pressure, or other suitable procedures.

Preserve in tight containers. No storage requirements specified.
Labeling
Label it to indicate that it is not intended for use in preparations for infants under one year of age, unless it meets the requirement for Clostridium species.
Identification
To a 0.5-mL aliquot of a solution (1 in 20) in a reaction vial add 0.25 mL of formic acid and 1.0 mL of freshly prepared 3% solution of ninhydrin in peroxide-free ethylene glycol monomethyl ether.
