Western Asia, Southern and Western Europe; cultivated in U.S.A., particularly in Oklahoma. Constit. Sparteine, scoparin, genisteine, sarothamnine, volatile oil, tannin, fat, wax, sugar.
Therap-Cat: Diuretic, cathartic.
