Properties: Crystals from methanol, mp 114-116°. Softens at 108°. uv max (chloroform): 310 nm, (E1%1cm 423); min 278 nm. Practically insol in water. Soly in alcohol: 0.28 g/100 ml; in ether: 3.6 g/100 ml. Also sol in glacial acetic acid, acetone, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, benzene, vegetable oils.
Melting point: mp 114-116°
Absorption maximum: uv max (chloroform): 310 nm, (E1%1cm 423); min 278 nm
