Properties: White crystals to grayish white powder; mp 2200 ±40°. Volatile at bp, on further heating it dissociates into Be and N2. Oxidized in air at 600°. Dec slowly by water, quickly by acids and alkalies with the evolution of ammonia.
Melting point: mp 2200 ±40°
