Botanic characteristics— Pale yellowish-brown powder with a slightly aromatic odor. Oval parenchymatous cells packed with starch granules and occasional druse crystals of calcium oxalate. Yellowish-brown secretory vessels with yellowish-brown contents.
Other requirements— It meets the requirements of the tests for Identification, Loss on drying, Foreign organic matter, Total ash, Pesticide residues, Heavy metals, and Content of ginsenosides under American Ginseng.
