» Castor Oil Capsules contain not less than 90.0 percent and not more than 110.0 percent of the labeled amount of castor oil, calculated from the tests for Weight variation and Specific gravity.
Packaging and storage— Preserve in tight containers, preferably at controlled room temperature.
Identification, Infrared Absorption 197S
Test solution: prepared by dissolving the contents of Capsules to obtain a concentration of about 40 mg of castor oil per mL.
Medium: chloroform.
Standard solution: a similar preparation of Castor Oil.
Uniformity of dosage units 905: meet the requirements.
Other requirements— The contents of Capsules meet the requirements of the tests for Specific gravity, Hydroxyl value, Iodine value, and Saponification value under Castor Oil.
