4-Aminosalicylic Acid 4-Amino-2-hydroxybenzoic acid; C7H7NO3 = 153.1 (65-49-6)

White or almost white, bulky powder, slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol (96%), in dilute nitric acid and in sodium hydroxide. It darkens on exposure to air and light.

Melting point, 135° to 145°.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°, in an airtight container, protected from light.
