Di-isopropyl Ether

Di-isopropyl Ether Isopropyl ether; C6H14O = 102.2 (108-20-3)

Clear, colourless liquid, very slightly soluble in water, miscible with ethanol (96%).

Do not distil if the di-isopropyl ether does not comply with the test for peroxides.

Peroxides Place 8 mL of potassium iodide and starch solution in a 12-mL ground-glass-stoppered cylinder about 1.5 cm in diameter. Fill completely with the substance to be examined, shake vigorously and allow to stand protected from light for 30 minutes. No colour is produced.

The name and concentration of any added stabiliser are stated on the label.

Store protected from light.
