Dimethylaminobenzaldehyde Solution R1

Dimethylaminobenzaldehyde Solution R1 Dissolve 0.2 g of dimethylaminobenzaldehyde in 20 mL of ethanol (96%) and add 0.5 mL of hydrochloric acid. Shake the solution with activated charcoal and filter. The colour of the reagent is less intense than that of iodine solution R3. Prepare immediately before use.
