Sodium Heptanesulfonate Monohydrate 1-Heptanesulfonic acid sodium salt monohydrate, 1-heptanesulphonic acid sodium salt monohydrate, sodium heptanesulphonate monohydrate; C7H15NaO3S,H2O = 220.3

Content, minimum 96% (anhydrous substance).

White or almost white, crystalline powder, soluble in water, very slightly soluble in anhydrous ethanol.

Water (2.5.12) Maximum 8%, determined on 0.300 g.

Assay Dissolve 0.150 g in 50 mL of anhydrous acetic acid. Titrate with 0.1 M perchloric acid, determining the end-point potentiometrically (2.2.20).

1 mL of 0.1 M perchloric acid is equivalent to 20.22 mg of C7H15NaO3S.
