Nitroaniline Solution, Diazotised Dissolve 0.4 g of 4-nitroaniline in 60 mL of 1m hydrochloric acid with the aid of heat, cool to 15° and add a 10% w/v solution of sodium nitrite until one drop of the mixture turns starch iodide paper blue.

Prepare immediately before use.
