Sodium Heptanesulphonate Monohydrate 1-Heptanesulphonic acid sodium salt monohydrate; C7H15NaO3S,H2O  =  220.3

Chromatographic reagent grade of commerce containing not less than 96.0% of C7H15NaO3S, calculated with reference to the anhydrous substance.

Complies with the following tests.

Water Not more than 8%, Appendix IX C. Use 0.3  g.

Assay Dissolve 0.15  g in 50  ml of anhydrous acetic acid and carry out Method I for non-aqueous titration , Appendix VIII A, determining the end point potentiometrically. Each  ml of 0.01m perchloric acid VS is equivalent to 20.22  mg of C7H15NaO3S.
