Properties: Lemon-yellow powder. When heated in vacuum at or slightly below 410°, it dec into VOSO4 and SO2. Stable in dry air. Upon exposure to moist air for several weeks, a green hydrate forms. Very slowly sol in water at room temp, somewhat faster in boiling water; practically insol in concd sulfuric acid; sol in dil and concd nitric acid. Powerful reducing agent.
