Properties: Colorless needles from dil alc, mp 342.5-343°. pKa1 6.85, pKa2 9.45. Freely sol in DMSO, DMF; slightly sol in methanol, pyridine; very slightly sol in water. Practically insol in diethyl ether, chloroform, benzene. Soly (g/L): water (pH 4) 0; (pH 7) 0.65. Sol in alkaline aq solns with decompn upon standing or heating.
