Properties: Hexagonal, bronze-colored crystals with green luster, d 8.57. Turns grayish-black on prolonged exposure to air. Thermal decompn to Ag and AgF begins at 100° and is complete at 200°. Good electrical conductor. On contact with water almost instant hydrolysis with precipitation of Ag powder. Apparently stable to abs ethanol; insensitive to light. When dry may be kept in a stoppered container for weeks without evidence of decompn.
Density: d 8.57
