» Podophyllum Resin Topical Solution is a solution in Alcohol consisting of Podophyllum Resin and an alcoholic extract of Benzoin. It contains, in each 100 mL, not less than 10 g and not more than 13 g of hexane-insoluble matter. Packaging and storage
Preserve in tight, light-resistant containers.
Identification
A:
A 1 in 5 solution in chloroform is levorotatory.
B:
The precipitate obtained as directed in the test for Hexane-insoluble matter responds to Identification test A under Podophyllum Resin.
Hexane-insoluble matter
Using a 10.0-mL quantity of the Topical Solution, proceed as directed for Hexane-insoluble matter under Podophyllum Resin. Multiply the weight of hexane-insoluble matter found by 2.5 to find the amount present in the 10.0 mL taken.
